Overview of the Universal Pre-K Program
Welcome to the UPK program here at TLC. We are so excited for your child to join our TLC family! Please review our website for information regarding curriculum, school policies, closings, menu, etc.

For any child attending TLC, we require the following forms to be completed and returned AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Registration and Emergency Contact Form
For North Merrick Residents only, the following form MUST be completed for the School District. We can accept this form instead of the NYS OCFS Medical form:

Extended Hours
The School District's UPK program provides children with instruction from 9:00am-2:00pm (5 hours), Monday-Friday. If you would like to extend your child's hours at TLC, please complete and return this form.
Meals
If you would like your child to receive a morning snack and lunch daily, please complete this form.
Extra Programs
In addition, we offer extra programs such as soccer and basketball with a certified coach. We will send out information via email when registration opens.

Allergies/Medications/Services
If your child has any allergies, takes specific medications, or receives services, please send our director an email so we can create a plan and go over any necessary paperwork.

What are the hours for the UPK program?The standard hours for UPK are 9:00am-2:00pm. Your child should arrive at the front desk by 9:00am, but no earlier than 8:55am. Additionally, pickup should occur no later than 2:00pm. If you would like to extend your child's hours, we offer this option for an additional fee.

Does the UPK program follow the school district's calendar?Yes. UPK follows your district calendar for closings and holidays. While UPK closes for all holidays/breaks, our facility is still open for most of these. You have the option to send your children in during these times for an additional cost.

Are meals included?Meals are not included with our UPK program. You may choose to send lunch/snacks in from home, or you can use our meal plan for $100/month. We cater from a local restaurant and our menu is available on our website. If you choose to participate in extended hours, your child will be fed whatever the children are eating during those hours free of charge. Breakfast is served after 8:00am. Snack is served both in the mornings and afternoons, exact time varies by class.

Is TLC Nut Free?Yes. TLC is a nut-free facility. Please consider this if you choose to send in lunch or snacks from home.

Is there an orientation meeting?We will have an orientation at the end of August, and you will receive all necessary paperwork before this orientation.
